8 Regional Recycling Bottle Depots to choose from and earn money.

Recycling at local bottle depots helps conserve our environment and can put extra money in your pocket. But it’s more than that. In this blog, we will explore ten compelling reasons why you should consider recycling at your nearest bottle depot.

1) Reduce Waste and Landfill Impact:

By recycling at Regional Recycling bottle depots, you help divert a significant amount of waste from ending up in landfills. Instead of languishing in a landfill for years, recyclable materials can be repurposed into new products, conserving valuable resources and reducing the strain on the environment.

2) Preserve Natural Resources

Recycling is a key solution to minimize the extraction and depletion of Earth’s natural resources. When you recycle materials such as glass, plastic, and aluminum at bottle depots, these resources can be reused and incorporated into producing new products, reducing the need for raw materials and energy-intensive extraction processes.

3) Energy Conservation

Recycling requires less energy than manufacturing products from virgin materials. By recycling at bottle depots, you contribute to energy conservation and help mitigate climate change. For instance, recycling aluminum cans uses only 5% of the energy required to produce new ones.

4) Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction

Recycling helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with extracting, manufacturing, and transporting raw materials. By recycling your bottles and cans at Regional Recycling Bottle Depots, you play a vital role in lowering carbon footprints and combating climate change.

5) Job Creation and Economic Benefits

Bottle depots contribute to the local economy by creating jobs and supporting recycling industries. We are proud to employ over 150 team members across eight depots. By recycling at bottle depots, you help sustain employment opportunities, promote a green economy, and stimulate local businesses.

10) Be an Environmental Steward

By recycling at your local Regional Recycling bottle depots, you become an environmental steward, playing an integral part in protecting the environment and creating a cleaner, greener future for future generations. Your small act of recycling can have a significant impact on the planet.

Regional Recycling is proud to work with the Major Appliance Recycling Roundtable (MARR) the not-for-profit organization that manages British Columbia’s recycling program for end-of-life major household appliances. Working on behalf of appliance manufacturers and other regulated producers, MARR helps ensure that unwanted appliances are collected, recycled, and processed responsibly across the province.

Operating under BC’s Recycling Regulation, MARR oversees an approved stewardship program that keeps valuable materials in circulation, ensures environmentally responsible handling of hazardous components, and helps reduce waste sent to landfill. The program is governed by MARR’s Board of Directors and is designed to make appliance recycling convenient, accessible, and environmentally responsible for British Columbians.

In addition to Regional Recycling, there are over 200 certified Major Appliance Recycling Roundtable (MARR) collection sites throughout BC that make it easy to recycle responsibly. There is no charge to drop off eligible appliances, and you can be confident that every appliance is processed safely, with recyclable materials recovered and hazardous components handled by licensed professionals.
