In a sprawling metropolis like Vancouver, diversity paints the city’s canvas with vibrant hues, yet beneath this picturesque exterior lies a pressing issue – child poverty. However, amidst the challenges and hardships many Vancouver families face, there exists a beacon of hope known as CLICK. As a volunteer-run charitable foundation, CLICK’s mission is to rewrite the narratives of inner-city children and youth, ensuring they have equal opportunities for a bright and promising future.
Every Child, Every Opportunity
CLICK envisions a Vancouver where a child’s future is not determined by their postal code or household income. Every child in the city should have access to essential elements that lay the foundation for success: a safe place to go after school, nutritious meals, and the opportunity to pursue their dreams and goals. This vision transcends socio-economic barriers, aiming to uplift the community as a whole.
Fighting Child Poverty
One in five children in Vancouver faces the harsh reality of living in poverty. For these vulnerable youngsters, every day can be a struggle. CLICK recognizes the dire need for intervention and focuses its efforts on raising funds for community programs and services that support inner-city children and youth. These programs provide vital assistance, such as nourishing meals, safe out-of-school care, and access to sports, camps, leadership opportunities, and arts and culture. This is why we have selected them as our Charity of the Month. Donations will be collected in our bottle depots and via the FastDrop and Depozip WebApp.
A Decade of Impact
Since its official launch in 2004, CLICK has directed over $1.3 million toward more than 700 programs that serve vulnerable children in Vancouver. What sets CLICK apart is its unwavering commitment to operating entirely on volunteer power. This dedication ensures that the funds raised reach the children and youth who need them the most. Many recipients have become repeat applicants, relying on CLICK funding to make life better for those they serve.
Efficiency and Impact
CLICK is a volunteer-driven organization without office space or staff and keeps its overhead expenses remarkably low. Consequently, the lion’s share of funds raised goes directly to the programs and services that empower Vancouver’s youth. This efficiency ensures that every dollar donated creates a genuine and lasting impact on the lives of children living in poverty.
How You Can Help
Whether you choose to recycle your containers in our bottle depots or via the Depozip Pick-up service, you can still donate all or part of your return to support this great cause. Donations of recyclable beverage containers will be collected via donation bins in the depots or the FastDrop and Depozip WebApp. Thanks in advance for your generous support!
