If you’re planning to renovate your home, you may be surprised to learn that recycling your renovation materials can put cash in your wallet. Not only is recycling beneficial for the environment, but it can also save you money in disposal fees and even earn you some extra cash.
Here are some of the materials you can recycle at our depots:
Small and Large Appliances
Kitchen remodels often involve getting rid of old appliances, which can be expensive and harmful to the environment if disposed of incorrectly. Instead of taking them to the garbage dump, bring them to one of our depots and working with our product stewards, we will ensure they are safely recycled. We accept fridges, stoves, blenders, toaster ovens, coffee machines, mixers, deep fryers, and more.
Paint
We can recycle a wide range of residential paints, including interior and exterior, deck and floor coatings, concrete and masonry paint, marine paint, swimming pool paint, empty paint containers, and more. However, please note that not all of our Regional Recycling locations accept paint anymore. You can recycle these items at our Abbotsford, Cloverdale, Nanaimo, Whistler, Richmond, or Vancouver locations.
Scrap Metal Recycling
Renovating your home can also create a stockpile of scrap metals, such as old pipes, wires, and electronics. You can skip the garbage dump and recycle these materials for cash at many of our locations. Not all locations pay for scrap metal, so be sure to check before you go. We accept non-ferrous metals like copper, brass, stainless steel, insulated wire, aluminum, and zinc. Come to one of our locations and speak with our Scrap Metal Specialist to get a quote for your items.
Renovating your home can be environmentally friendly and cost-effective. Visit our website to review the “Earn Money” and “Drop Off” menus to learn more about which materials you can recycle and which ones can put cash in your pocket. Please note that we don’t currently offer commercial recycling options for renovation companies, but you can Contact Us to learn more.
