Summer 2022 is finally here! While the summer equinox may have come and gone, we have only started to really feel the summer vibes these last couple of weeks. This year, we are able to gather freely and celebrate within our communities. We encourage everyone to find a local celebration, beach, or virtual event and take advantage of this beautiful season.

Vancouver Pride 2022

Our city’s Pride celebration is in full swing for the month of July and runs right into the August long weekend. 2022 will mark the 44th anniversary of The Vancouver Pride Parade. This year you can #ChooseYourPride from a series of in-person and virtual events.

#TogetherAgain celebrates the beauty that comes in reuniting and uplifting 2SLGBTQAI+ communities. Together Again represents the first Vancouver Pride festival since 2019. For the first time ever, Vancouver Pride Society is centering on collaborations with QTBIPOC organizations throughout the city to amplify the racialized talent.

How to enjoy summer and stay sustainable

With all these exciting events, it can be tough to ensure you’re staying sustainable with all the parties, BBQs, and picnics. We suggest making sure to pack and serve your food in reusable or recyclable containers. Pack out what you pack in at the parks and beaches, and be sure to set up your Depozip orders so you can skip the trip to the depot. You have too many fun things to do. Let us take care of picking up your empties, and we’ll send your return right to your account!
